Senate Committees Audit & Oversight (AO)

Good way to “get in the know” about student organizations and policies
Meets and audits student organizations

Student Finance Committee (SFC)

Meets Thursday at 7 pm
Allocates the Student Activity Fees Money
Good way to “get in the know” about money and SGA in general

Student Services & Physical Environment Committee

Improve the general interior of the campus (parking, lighting, safety/security, etc)
Makes sure the student services are running properly for the students
Promotes awareness of student rights and defends them to the best of their ability
Gathers information regarding matters affecting campus and bringing them to the Senate.

Legislative Affairs Committee

Edits new bills and referendums before they go to the Senate.
Changes wording and such after the Senate has seen the bill and made changes.

Constitution Committee

Helps the Chair go over constitutions that organizations turn in to be approved; although all senators need to review the constitutions, these people play a more active role in looking over the constitutions for errors.

Recruitment & Elections Committee

Runs all official elections
Keeps the student body informed of open positions and informs students about the positions

Publicity & Social Committee

Helps publicize and make stuff for Oktoberfest booth, etc.
Plans social events for the Senate

Academic Affairs Committee (AAC)

Chair serves on the Faculty Senate
Liaison between the Senate and the Academic Affairs Office

*Every Senate member has to join at least one committee and attend regular meetings!
*Committee Chairs must take attendance at meetings and report back to the Senate about what they did in their meeting.
